Journey church is embarking on its inaugural Community Trail Run. The purpose of this event is to create awareness about Journey church, engage our community, & support specific needs with the funds raised. We believe this initiative will be an opportunity to empower our community and invite them on a journey with us. Our goal is to raise R50 000. All proceeds will go to support the work of The Zambia Project and Proudly Three Rivers. This event will be fun for the whole family!
Details of the race are as follows:
Date: 5 October 2019
Location: Dick Fourie Stadium, Klip River & Houtkop Road, Three Rivers, Vereeniging
Trail Distances: 1km (kiddies run), 5km, 10km
Event Duration: 06:00 -12:00
Starting Times:
The start and finish of the race is at Dick Fourie Stadium.
07:00 – 5km and 10km
08:00 – 1km
11:00 Prizegiving
Cut off Times
10km – 150 minutes
5km – 90 minutes
Parking: Free parking available at Dick Fourie Stadium
Entry: Online entries will be made available until 27 September 2019. Entries will be available at the Stadium from 05:00.

Rules and information:
• All entrant will participate under the rules of ASA and AVT and it is the athletes responsibility to familiarize themselves with the rules.
• The race committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry.
• Marshals and traffic officials must be obeyed at all time. Failure to comply with their instruction will lead to immediate disqualification.
• Distance boards will be placed at each kilometer.
• No seconding or vehicles on route will be allowed.
• Athletes winning a prize must be present during the award ceremony otherwise he/she will forfeit their prize.
• Blade and wheelchair athletes are allowed to participate but must comply with all the rules. The use of a suitable helmet is compulsory for wheelchair competitors.
• Athletes may not run with another athlete’s race number.
• Littering is forbidden and no animals are allowed on the day.
• A minimum age of 9 years for the 5km run and 15 years for the 10km run applies.
• For safety reasons, participants are not allowed to use earphones during the race.
• Athletes indemnify the national, provincial and regional bodies as well as sponsors and organisers of the race against all or any actions of any kind resulting in their participation in The Journey Run.

Temporary License for 10km – R50

No refunds on entrees paid. Unlicensed Athletes of 10km must purchase a temporary license at a cost of R50 pp. The number must be worn on the back of the T-shirt and the race number issued by the organisers must be worn on the front. No advertising is permitted. No temporary license is required for the 5km fun run and the 1km kiddies run.
